Recently I heard about a natural time-cycle power point that really interested me. This organic break in the time-space continuum holds the transformative potential of a new beginning or a total reset. It is called The Fresh Start Effect. In western culture New Year's Day resolutions are an annual restart tradition, where we embark on a path to a better, brighter version of ourselves. But any break in time where there is a sense of before/after can be a powerful ally in our own personal transformation. These natural transition points are called 'temporal landmarks' Moments like your birthday, or the shift into a new season act like a clean line drawn across your life. On one side is who you’ve been; on the other is who you’re ready to become. There is a strong psychological effect to these times that can bring a surge of hope, a sense of renewal, and the courage to step into real change. Research has shown that early spring and birthdays have the most potential to naturally support what we want to transform. We have to do our part by harnessing this energy for positive transformation by dreaming the dream and creating the plan. Spring is particularly strong in re-birth energy. Unlike January, where we are still in the shadow of the longest night of the year, Spring transits the equinox, starting our journey toward the longest day at solstice. We are part of this natural awakening cycle, not separate from it. We still practice ancient renewal rituals today! When we do spring cleaning we are literally and symbolically clearing out and the old and stagnant and making room for the new. When we till the soil and plant a spring garden, excitement for the new plants and what they will yield align with our own potential. Use this special time, during the spring equinox, to make your master plan for positive change. But if you miss it, any time marker can create 'a fresh start effect' in your life, even the dawn of a new day.
