My wandering heart loves this card when the Eight of Cups says 'take this job and shove it!' This brave wanderer doesn't settle for less and will venture into the unknown rather than stay in an unsatisfactory situation. She is an explorer and will put up with temporary discomfort in order to find her new reality. This is true in any situation, be it romantic, career, family, or life path! She is in harmony with life and trusts the universe. Security is mostly an illusion and she knows when the wind starts blowing in a different direction. Now is a great time to consult the cards or iching to give hints as to your new direction. Looked at from another angle, though, the Eight of cups becomes the deck's signal to deal with abandonment issues. It can show you abandoning someone or something that either no longer suits you or triggers a fear of intimacy. It can also show a beloved person dealing with abandonment issues and it is affecting your relationship. Sometimes, someone who is terrified of abandonment will walk away needlessly so that they control a romantic situation. This is a form of sabotage. Look to the other cards to see if this is the case (the Nine of swords, Seven of Swords or Emperor).
Reversed: I don't use reverse cards, as every card has inherently positive and challenging aspects, depending on the client and the reading.
