Four of Cups
Keywords: Feeling Stuck, Being in a Rut, Focusing on the Negative, Boredom If you feel like you are in a rut, the Four of Cups will most likely show up in your reading. This card represents mild depression...a real case of the Blahs. But it also holds the key to getting out of this state. It is all about perspective. The man on the tarot card is focusing on three empty cups and ignoring the gorgeous, over-flowing grail of mana from heaven being offered to him. Humans focus too much on what they want, don't have and long for. I wrote a piece on this (click here) last year. We can always set ourselves free from our misery just by choosing to think differently. Sometimes this card simply means boredom. Don’t be lazy. There are millions of things to get awestruck by...go find some new friends and new situations. No one is coming to save you, but you can save yourself. In a relationship reading, the Four of Cups represents the time period just after the honeymoon ends. When mundane reality starts creeping in and the glow of 'being in love' is fading...don't believe the hype. This is also all about perspective. The other person is always a magical being as interesting as the singular universe they are (and so are you.) Reveresed: I don't use reverse cards, as every card has inherently positive and challenging aspects, depending on the client and the reading. |
