The Three of Swords Keywords: Heartache, Love Triangle, Sorrow, This Too Shall Pass
“The rose and the thorn, sorrow and gladness are linked together.” — Saadi
This is the temporary heartbreak card. The pain won't last forever, but that doesn't make it any easier while it is happening. Sorrow is an unavoidable part of life, the trick is to learn how to surf it. Give it respect and time, learn from it, but don't hang on to it. This is fundamentally a spiritual card because when sorrow visits, the only way out is through. Running from it won't work. Luckily this is minor arcana card, so it is time sensitive and generally affecting only one aspect of life, although it can have a ripple effect into other areas. Just remember that this too shall pass and don't hesitate to get help if you need it in your healing process. In a relationship reading, this represents a dark time in love. If other cards indicate it, it may represent an ending, a misunderstanding, a betrayal or an infidelity. This card represents the number three, which is not a welcome number in a monogamous relationship.
Reversed: I don't use reverse cards, as every card has inherently positive and challenging aspects, depending on the client and the reading.
