The Kings of Cups

In an otherwise positive spread, the King of Cups is a wonderful energy to draw upon. He is emotionally mature, empathetic, creative and loving. This card is a good omen regarding a relationship with two people who are mature and  well balanced. The flip side of this King is emotional  instability. The energy of this card is moody, with a tendency toward drinking too much to dull the pain and the intesity of living. If you are involved with an ill-aspected King of Cups you will always be on his agenda. There isn't usually outright controlling behavior, but a subtle manipulation based on his emotional needs. He is the quintessential 'tortured artist'.
