Often the Five of Cups shows up when a situation has arisen that threatens our sense of financial safety. It can be large medical bills, a job that has fallen through or any large unexpected expense. This card can show up when we didn’t follow the advice of the Four of Pentacles to save for a rainy day. The thing to remember is that everything is workable. Shift your perspective from feeling victimized to just starting where you are at. Get help troubleshooting. If the two figures in this card would just look up they would see the lights of a sanctuary shining bright and offering them refuge from the cold. They need to stop looking into the abyss and looking the light. That is where opportunity lies and salvation from the crisis. Pull a couple more cards that will help you know what direction to go in. Emotionally, this card leaves someone feeling left out in the cold. This can be due to a real slight or an imagined one. Again, perspective is key. What is useful for you to believe in order to deal with or heal from a painful situation? All of us have visited the bleak landscape of the Five of Pentacles, but the important thing is to figure out how to move on out ASAP!
Reveresed: I don't use reverse cards, as every card has inherently positive and challenging aspects, depending on the client and the reading.
