Some Silver Linings during this time of Crisis In the midst of all the scary news about this new sickness that has rushed through our lives unexpectedly,there are little nuggets of unexpected positive change. We have all caught a glimpse into a world that could be. Where the water is clear in the sky is blue and mother Earth gets a chance to breathe deeply.
I was deeply moved to see the beauty of the clear waters that are now in Venice, Italy because it's not being overrun by tourists and boat traffic. see here This is after only one week! You could actually see the bottom of the canals and the little fishes swimming. Around the world, where everything has slowed down, mother nature has started healing (Nasa pictures of China during the lockdown.) It just goes to show how resilient this planet is if we just give it some space and time to heal. Humans are so intelligent! We now have so many technologies, we could always have clear waters and blue skies. If we had the will we could do this very quickly. I am now going to be sending love and thankfulness to this beautiful planet in my morning meditations. My Hope is that just like the planet, we spend some of this (enforced) downtime rejuvenating as well. As I write this many of us are in quarantine and are now forced to spend a lot of time on our own. This is a great time to journal daydream and study. Are there some changes you would like to make in your life that you haven't had time to focus on? I know there are a lot of practical things to deal with right now, especially on the financially front for a lot of us. I am praying for us all. I guess we must do what we can. As the old addage goes: control what you can and release what you can't. But in the in-between spaces maybe you can hear a new voice, discover a hidden truth or open a door to a new vision.  Page of Swords-Crow Tarot April Well, how appropriate that we start out this season with the Death card! I am not predicting any physical death here, because I am not God. But what this means is the way of life that we are used to has ended for the time being. This can feel scary. But it is temporary, as I have started these readings with death card energy and we progress away from it...not toward it.♥️ In fact, by June we end up with a beautiful Ace energy of rebirth. Because this card's energy is blending with the Page of Swords we need to make many decisions in new territory. This is a real 'nip it in the bud' energy! June begins on an introspective note, when it is time to acknowledge and appreciate our inner power and self-knowledge. The High Priestess is one of the most powerful cards in the Tarot and she wants us to rely on our own inner world and intuition to guide us through life. No one (or nothing) can steal us away from ourselves. If we have been misguided by wrong information or charlatans, we can always call in our superpowers to find ourselves again. Remember the song 'The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius'? Well, it is no longer the 'dawning' because it actually arrives in 2020. This really is a start of a new era. We've been under the influence of an earth sign for almost 200 years and now we are switching over into the air sign , Aquarius. So what does moving into an air sign signify?
Leaving Earth energy behind means no longer getting our fuel from the earth such as fossil fuels and trees. Instead we'll be getting our energy from the air and renewable resources. We will stop getting most of our water from the ground and start harvesting it from the rain in the sky. It could very well mean the end of traditional capitalism and its emphasis on materialism and turning into a more 'experience' oriented Society. Air signs rule technology and communication. Clearing your home energetically can help bring positive movement into other areas of your life. The ancient art / science of feng shui is based on this principle. Practitioners believe that balancing energy flow in your home brings Good Fortune into your life. Other belief systems also use space clearing in their their practices and rituals. So here are some tips to do this for yourself.
It's important to always start off with a good cleaning and de-cluttering. Make sure the area around your front door is especially free of junk and clothes. Make sure that the door can open all the way. This is where your opportunities come in. (I remember when I was back in college , anytime that I had to write a really big paper, part of the process of organizing my mind was to First clean and organize my space. I could not write when my house was dirty and cluttered. When the energy in my apartment was able to freely flow then I was able to move forward in my work. ) Salt is an excellent cleanser both physically and energetically. It's used a lot in clearing rituals. Some of the things you can do with salt to help absorb any stagnation or negative Energies are as follows:
You can use smoke to drive out unwanted energies. Generally I use Palo Santo or frankincense. Walk through each room imaging the smoke neutralizing anything negative and making space for fresh new energy. My friend, the folk magic practitioner and high priestess, Kook Teflon, recommends burning Dragon's Blood for driving out especially heavy and oppressive energies. She says when you're trying to get rid of energies you want to start at the back of your house with the windows and doors open. Then smudge each room in the house while moving towards the front door. When you get to the threshold, usher all the negativity out the front door. In July some of us may be navigating some heavy emotional waters, but don’t worry, because the existential weight will definitely be lifting in August and September! Often times this energy is due to taking on more than you can handle. For those of you who tend to take on responsibility (too)easily you need to sit down and analyze where your energy is going. You only have so much in a day. Are you sacrificing your own life energy to keep the peace in an unhealthy situation? Do you need to delegate? Sometimes this just means there is a lot going on for a short amount of time. Make sure when you’re having to endure pressure in life that you make time to take care of yourself. Some of this heavy energy has to do with the lunar eclipse in mid July in Capricorn. An eclipse is a really powerful transit that often times brings needed endings ...and new beginnings ;-). Here is a overview of the coming year for each of the Chinese zodiac animal signs. Rat: you should have a great year full of joy and abundance. Ox: overall 2019 should be a solid and positive year. Keep your eyes open for opportunities to bring in multiple income streams. The key is activating opportunities not letting them pass by. Tiger: this year your fortune will increase when you collaborate and work with others. A little humility and trust will go a long way. Rabbit: you'll be blessed with a wonderful year in 2019. Looking to the Future I've been thinking a lot about investment lately. Everything that we do is an investment that we stand upon later. How we think is the architect of our actions and our future. Perspective itself is an investment. What we say, what we do and how we interact with people is an investment.
Usually when we talk about the term investment in Western Society we are referencing money. Well, we are in a system that was created before any of us were born. In this man-made social/financial structure, our energy gets translated into cash. A bill (dollar or otherwise) is a proxy for our life-energy that was invested into labor. (This is a deeply flawed system with some humans' labor being more valued than others. But that is another discussion) I am talking about looking at where our energy goes and assessing if we are in control of our direction. This year I have really gotten a hold of my money. I am harnessing it and directing it and respecting it like I never have before because truly... it's My Life Energy manifested as green dollars. I also started looking at relationship in terms of investment. Nurturing and spending energy on an excellent reciprocal relationship, whether it's family, friends or a lover will bring endless dividends in the future. Deep real reciprocal relationships could even save your life ...or at least your mental health, at some point. I think that 'acts of investment' are fundamentally the actions of an adult. Investment calls in the idea that we don't live in a vacuum and that our actions do affect others. Our actions deeply affect our future self. Ask yourself: What would my future self thank me for? I think Our future self would be extremely grateful if we invested in our best version of reality now. I think being mindful is the state of a grown-up, and acting mindlessly is the state of a child. And we have tons of mindless adults. It's not totally their fault. We are in the end times of capitalism and we are trained to not truly think for ourselves. The system puts pressure on us to be a cog in the academic/ health/ work machine ... and then to consume endlessly. I'm all for spontaneity, but there's also a place in life for building a solid foundation based on investment. These are just some of my thoughts rolling around at the end of 2018. TAROT OF THE LEAVES JANUARY Fortunately, the energetic flow of a January is moving from a place of constriction and exhaustion into expansion and new possibilities. Some of us are really going to be feeling like we need to reclaim some personal space. You can set boundaries with love. Say NO with compassion. Creating a calm and quiet space for yourself will allow you to have some brand new ideas for the coming year. Look at 2019 as your own personal blank page. Set some goals for yourself that you can achieve. I'm not just talking about New Year's resolutions. I'm talking about something you've been thinking about for a long time. Actually do it. Seriously think about where you're going to invest your energy this year. Please do not stop your brainstorming sessions with so called 'practical' considerations. Anything that is important to you divine spirit can be achieved. If anyone, anywhere, has done or become something that you want to do or be, that means you can acieve it too...with your own personal panache , of course!!! This does not have to be scary (even if it's really ugly!). Remember: the truth will set you free. This may have to do with some aspect of your life that you have been wishing would change by itself. Well sorry, it's not going to change on its own. And if it's a situation outside of you, it may not change at all. By this point in the paragraph most of you know what I'm talking about. Although the days are getting longer, March sort of feels like the armpit of winter... at least in the northern hemisphere. It's the tail end of winter, just on the verge of spring, so wrap up any old or stale situations and send them on their way. Very shortly it's going to be time for us to personally get in harmony with nature and Bloom! What mind-seeds were rolling around in the dark depths of dreamy long nights? It's not too late to plant something that wants to come alive in the summer. For many of us love is going to bloom soon. But it's going to come with an agenda. There's nothing wrong with someone having an agenda if it's going to benefit you. But remember 'charm' is a verb. And it always it has an end in sight.
